Chris Brown Concert.

College is full of crazy, spontaneous, and spur of the moment decisions. After working on homework at a local coffee shop for four long hours, my friends and I headed to our favorite sandwich shop in Eau Claire. Half way through our meal, Hannah jokingly brought up going to the Chris Brown concert in Minneapolis that started in thirty minutes. Though we all understood she was joking, after looking at the prices, which ended up being very inexpensive, we finished our sandwiches, bought four tickets, and headed back to the dorms. With less than 10 minutes to get ready, all of us threw on whatever we could find and headed to the car. It wasn't until we got halfway through the car ride we thought about looking at the line up. After discovering that 50 Cent, Fabolous, O.T. Genasis, and Kap G were going to be there as well, we became more excited. It is not uncommon to hear a song played multiple times from each of these artists at parties. Finishing our make-up in the car and blasting Chris Brown the entire ride, the ride felt like nothing. If you ask me, spending any amount of time with your best friends is valuable time. It is not often that all of us aren't busy doing homework or something else, so the small amount of time with my best friends are very important to me. We finally arrived in Minneapolis around 8:30 pm and it took us awhile to find a parking place. After finding a place to park, we locked the doors and began running in our heals to the stadium. I am pretty sure we were all out of breath by the time we got inside, we were glad we had finally gotten to the concert after arriving an hour and a half late. Surprisingly nothing had started yet, so we instantly begin taking pictures with each other to make up for the time we had loss.

We were definitely those annoying "white girls" at a concert, but nobody was on stage yet so I didn't see the problem. Before we knew it, the lights began to dim and 50 Cent made his appearance on stage. The crowd went wild, including my best friends and I. 50 Cent started the concert off by singing two of his oldest songs, 'In Da Club' and 'Candy Shop'. My friends and I looked at each other and smiled, we knew every word to both songs. Within seconds of 50 Cent leaving the stage, Fabolous, O.T. Genasis, and Kap G made their appearance. Once again, the crowd went wild. Since these artist are more recent, the mood in the crowd shifted from throwback songs to party mode. Artist were jumping on the stage, singing their music and so were we. It's one thing to hear a song at a party and sing along to it, but it is a completely different hearing it live. The music is so loud that you don't realize how loud you are singing until the song ends and the stadium goes quiet. That is one of the reasons I love concerts so much. You don't have to be a good singer to sing along to the songs, in fact, your neighbor probably can't even hear you. You are in your own little world with the artist. After an hour or so of music, the crowd went quiet and the stage began to light up. Chris Brown was about to start. Waiting patiently, the stadium went from silenced to excitement in a few short seconds. Chris Brown had finally made an appearance after two hours {Drake took almost three so I am not complaining}. I was amazed at how talented him and his back up dancers {if you have never seen Chris Brown dance, you should}. I had forgotten how much I had loved Chris Brown when I was younger and some how managed to remember the words to most of his songs. Before we knew it the concert was over and the lights slowly began to come back on. Just like Drake's goodbye, Chris Brown had a variety of fireworks that lit up the room before leaving the stage {video below}. It felt like a dream, did my friends and I actually drive two hours to Minnesota {on a Sunday night} for a concert we bought tickets to thirty minutes before it started? As my parents would say, we were crazy and young. I love that I have found friends that are adventurous, crazy, and spontaneous just like me. XOXO
