The week before Spring Break is always a grind, but with so many classes being cancelled Tia and I decided to take advantage of this gorgeous day by exploring downtown Eau Claire. After hearing nothing but good things, we decided to check out Racy D'lene's Coffee Lounge to finish up the small amount of homework we both had. Though I am not very big into coffee, I stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered a double latte, which surprisingly wasn't that bad! Tia order a double mocha and was not a huge fan. Racy D'lene's had a very authentic feel and dark lighting, which was a perfect vibe to finish my homework and chat. Once both of us had accomplished what needed to be done, we finished our drinks and headed towards the new cupcake shop on Water Street. As much as I love the library and how quite it is, I would rather do homework and study in a coffee shop any day. With the walk being so short, Tia and I only had to walk a block and a half before arriving at Chic Sweets. I don't recall what the store was before the cupcake shop, but Eau Claire was lacking in the bakery department. With it almost being closing time most of the cupcakes were gone once we got there, but there was still a few Oreo cupcakes left that looked pretty good. It didn't take very long to finish the cupcakes and with nothing left to do for the day, we continued to explore Water Street. Walking through alleys and listening to music, I couldn't help but smile because I was with one of my best friends. Going into college, my mom told me to introduce myself to all the girls on my floors because some of her best friends still are the same girls that lived down the hall from her freshmen year. With Tia being two doors down from me, we became friends very quickly and it wasn't long before we hung out everyday. Tia always has a positive attitude on life and can crack a joke any moment. She has so many of the qualities that you would want in a friend. Being the outgoing, crazy, freaks we are, we found the cutest brick wall we could find and starting taking pictures. Boys, if you think that candid's exist, you are very very very wrong. Every Instagram post is planned out and has several 'bad' photos to prove it. With the sun beginning to set, we headed to the nearest bus stop and waited to be picked up. Though we were within walking distance to the dorms, we were too lazy to cross the bridge and hike the hill. With spring break just around the corner, I cannot wait to come back and explore Eau Claire again with my best friend. Until then, XOXO.
