Biggest Inspiration

Everyone is inspired one way or another. Since I am more of a visual learner, I am inspired by actions more than words. Though I love quotes and how they are able to make me think deeper and at the bigger picture, actions and people inspire me the most. There is a very long list of people who have inspired me in the past, but the person who inspires me the most is my mom. If I was asked to write a paper, give a speech, or thank you letter to one person who has inspired me the most, I would choose my mom in heart beat. My mom has inspired me since I was old enough to realize and understand the meaning of her actions. I could say my entire life to be more dramatic about the statement, but in reality, when I was younger, I didn't understand what she was doing in a way that could inspire me. I think the moment I actually began becoming inspired by my mother was when she married my step dad. With coming under the realization that my grandmother did not have very much time left, she planned an entire wedding, made her wedding gown, and brought her entire family together to celebrate this day in just a few months. Now you are probably thinking, why is this inspirational? Let me tell you. My mother worked very hard at her job and raised a young daughter at the same time. She has always put others first. Though I did not realize it until I was a few years older, my mother worked very hard at her job, raise a daughter by herself, plan a wedding, deal with the approaching pasting of her mother, well coming together with another family to start a new life. Now if you don't think that is difficult, let me remind you of this. Weddings are supposed to be the beginning of a happy life with someone you love. But my mother was gaining and losing someone she loved at the same time. Fast forwarding a few years to when I was in high school. I will be honest, I shamed my mother on multiple occasions how she chose work over me. In all reality, I was jealous of the amount of time she spent on work rather than with me. I was sad because as much as I wanted to spend time with her, she was constantly busy with work. Now in college, looking back at the fights where I accused her of picking work over me. I realize that she actual made time for me more than I realized it. She made time for me on the weekends and would be willing to spend time with me, but I was busy with friends. My mom is the most inspirational person to me in many ways, though I don't always tell her. I hope one day that I am as successful, smart, loving, and inspirational to my own daughter. Thank you mom for everything you have done for me. I love you more than you probably think.
