Spontaneous Road Trips to the U

Saturday nights spent with Laura basically mean finding last minute plans and taking advantage of it. With it approaching midnight, we hopped in the car and drove forty minutes to the University of Minnesota. You can imagine that Dinkytown, on a Saturday night, around midnight is fully packed with minimal parking and drunk college students walking through intersections carelessly. We both agreed that "free" parking alone the street was a lost cause and found the closest parking ramp. Though we regretted paying $20 for overnight parking, we knew it was our only option. Running to Danny's apartment was the only thing going through my mind. Not only because it was almost 1 am, but because it was freezing cold. When I say freezing cold, I mean 5 degrees, maybe 6. Thankfully Danny was at the front door the moment we got there to let us in. When we walked through the doors, the party was already started and crazy. All but three girls were from my high school, so it felt like a "reunion" party. Danny's apartment looked over Dinkytown and the Gopher Football Stadium, which was ABSOLUTELY beautiful in my mind. The night seemed to go on forever until we had to face the freezing weather at 7:30 am. The drive home was gorgeous due to the sun just rising and the streets being empty, Though I wish I went to college in a major city, I don't know if I would love it as much as I do right now.
