A Weekend Home for Ana's Birthday

With my little sister turning 8 years old, I figured I had to be home for her big day and her birthday party. Thursday night was spent out to dinner with the entire family in Richfield, where my step dad decided an organic restaurant would be a perfect fit for an eight year old. Shortly after we arrived and looked at the menu, Ana and I were a bit puzzled on what we were going to eat. The menu had about 10 things on it and the children's menu had five. Being the picky eater I am, I figured sticking to the kids menu might be my best bet. Ana and I both decided on getting chicken noodle soup and splitting a basket of fries. I am sure who the head chef is, but they did not do a very good job, in my opinion. Our (kids) chicken noodle soup came out and Ana and I were very confused. The liquid was dark brown and there was barely any noodles. Though it did not look like chicken noodle soup at all, I was the bigger sister and had to try it first before Ana would even touch it. It was not the best, but I was so hungry that I sucked it up and ate most of it. Ana, on the other hand. was not very thrilled about what she called it, "chocolate milk chicken noodle soup." With two hungry kids, Ana and I, it did not take us very long to convince the parents to leave and let us eat real food. We ended the night with cupcakes and opening gifts for Ana's birthday. Saturday was spent at the Mall of America for Ana's birthday party with her friends. After today, I will never go to the American Girl Doll Store again with ten 8 year olds. Ana, her friends, and their dolls had a good time which is all that matters. Thank god nobody else was in the "restaurant" because they were extremely loud and running around everywhere. After about an hour or two, we finished our meal and head home to have cake and open presents. Sunday was spent packing and cleaning my room before heading back to campus. As much as I love coming home and seeing my family, I am very excited to be back with all my friends.
