With my 19th birthday coming up, I decided that it would be a perfect time to go home and visit my family and friends. Little did I know that my mom had a very eventful weekend planned out for me. The first night I was home, we headed to JOJO & PAPA's for a big dinner. After being gone for almost a month and a half, I was thrilled to see steak, green beans, mashed potatoes, and bread on the table. It is not very often that you eat this kind of food at college, unless you go out to eat somewhere. Just like I expected, questions were being thrown at my direction left and right, "Do you like college?" "do you have a lot of friends?" "are the classes hard?" "which class is your favorite?" "do you miss being at home?" "do you have a boyfriend?" I tried to lengthen my responses as much as possible to give them a better idea of how school was going, but it started getting harder and harder. I could feel my responses beginning to repeat and my willingness to questions slowly disappearing. Saturday afternoon was spent at 50th & France, which to anyone who knows me is my favorite spot in Minnesota. Just walking through the stores and the streets could entertain me for hours. The streets are always decorated with flowers and lights and the stores leave their doors open, which creates such a welcoming vibe for those driving by and those shopping. I had dinner with my dad Saturday night, which was very nice. Though, I don't live with him full time it is always a good time to spend time with him and joke around. My dad is one of the funniest people I have ever met in my life. He is always joking around with anyone that is in the room with him. Sunday was filled with packing and watching Ana's soccer game before finally hitting the road to go back to campus. I love coming home and hope I can continue to do so every three weeks or so. Weekend's at home are the best place to relax and get away from homework for awhile.
